1.5 miles up gravel road to the snowmobile trail at Oaks Road and Lycoming Trail.

 

  

Cross the road.

 

Pass a large three trunk tree on the left side of the trail.

 

Pass the second red blaze on the right side.

 

20 steps off trail after the second red blaze, note the two trunk tree.

From the cemetery driveway, look uphill to the flagpole.  Box is to the right of the pole, tucked beside Sarah.

Elk Creek Access

 

Begin on the trail from the restroom side of the lower parking lot.

 

The trail is steep in sections.

 

When you reach the intersection featuring the Indian trail tree on the left side, make a right turn.

 Walk to the overlook and enjoy the view of Lake Erie.

 

On your way back, note this tree on the left side of the trail.  Check out the roots on the right side of the tree.

Start in parking lot across from the entrance to the Presque Isle Lighthouse.

 

Walk down the Sidewalk Trail to the intersection with the Dead Pond Trail.

 

As the trail begins to turn right, look to your left.

 

Spot this tree.

Park at the new Angora Road trailhead. Below is a picture of the new parking area from the trail.

 

Head up the red trail going through this S curve (viewed from the top of the curve).

 

Pass a low rock wall on the left side of the trail.

 

Choose the right side trail when you come to this double red blazed tree on the left.

 

You are now approaching the T intersection at the end of this trail.

 

If you go to the right, you will see the pond below.  There is also an orienteering marker in this area.

 

However, you really want to go to the left.  The trail is marked with this metal pole above.  Walk through the pine forest till you see this stripped tree strump.

 

Notice the two trees to the right of the tree in the picture above.   When you stand in front of the tree and face the rock wall the three trees line up in a diagonal row.  Go to the second tree from the stripped tree.  Look at the left rear side of the base of this tree.
